General information
When to use Isarid™ HG?
Isarid™ HG is a powerful biological insecticide that helps growers and homeowners protect plants from a wide range of troublesome pests. It targets whiteflies, aphids, thrips, mites, beetles, psyllids, mealybugs, and fungus gnats on fruit and vegetable crops, ornamental plants, roses, bedding plants, trees, shrubs, lawns, and more. Whether used in gardens, greenhouses, or home landscapes, Isarid™ provides reliable, environmentally conscious pest control.
Apply Isarid™ HG throughout the year from early spring to late fall (when soil temperature is above 39°F but less than 86°F). Typically, it takes 3 – 7 days for an infected insect or mite to die and 7 – 10 days after the first spray to see a reduction in an insect or mite population. Repeat applications 2 – 3 times at 15-day intervals sufficient to maintain
control or shorter (5- to 8-day intervals) depending on pest pressures.
How does Isarid™ HG work?
Isarid™ HG works using live spores of the beneficial fungus Isaria fumosorosea strain FE 9901. When applied, these spores naturally infect and suppress target insects, providing effective control without relying on chemical pesticides. When spores of Isarid™ HG come into contact with the insect pest they attach to the body and begin to grow almost immediately. Once the spore germ tube penetrates the host cuticle, fungal multiplication takes place through formation of hyphal bodies in the host body. This beneficial fungus mechanically disrupts the host’s internal organs and initiates tissue necrosis. This leads to lack of feeding, inactivity and eventually death.
