Redefining IPM: Improving Profit Margins

Jun 27, 2025

Greenhouse Management magazine published an article by Koppert’s Jordan Marcellus on Earth Day! Redefining IPM: Improving Profit Margins tackles the unfortunate reality that nothing is more expensive than an unhealthy plant. Taking a positive approach, Jordan discusses the benefits of proactive biocontrol solutions, showing how pest control can become an opportunity for profit and differentiation in a tightly competitive market rather than a necessary evil. He points to the abundance of expert support available from the knowledgeable technical consultants that comprise the Koppert team.

Jordan is a technical account manager at Koppert. He is driven by a commitment to contribute more than he consumes, and believes “we all have a duty to protect and enhance our environment in any way we can, whether on a small scale (resource conservation) or large (ecological restoration).” After many years in crop production as a grower and manager, he joined Koppert to help commercial growers build and maintain successful biological pest control programs, using a pest’s natural enemies. In this manner he hopes to create a balanced, sustainable ecosystem in crop production which is less reliant on chemicals and increases production rates to feed a growing population.
