Good Enough to Eat

May 28, 2026

Imagine our surprise when we visited our friend @shapingfire on Instagram and were greeted by a crop photo that wasn’t cannabis. It seems Shango has branched out with an agrarian side hobby that’s beneficial on a couple of different levels. What is he growing and why? Inquiring minds want to know.

He’s inspired at least one follower. @vandal.mike commented: “I companion plant in my vegetable garden but this year I was going to do the same in my Herb beds. I have a crinkle leaf purple basil that’s going in with one…” so Shango’s crop will hopefully work in the other.

Fun Guys To Be With

If you need to catch up on the Shaping Fire podcast, Episode #128 dropped in March. Mycology, Mushroom Lore, and Psychedelic Fungi: What We’re Still Figuring Out features special guest Alan Rockefeller. Host Shango Los sits down with the world-renowned mycologist to discuss a range of mushroom-related matters.

“The study and discovery of mushrooms is a wide-open opportunity for everyone! Much of what we know about mushrooms is built on poor historical descriptions and incomplete science.” Check out the post for a list of topics discussed in the episode—hopefully some of your wildest mushroom questions will be answered.

@favoriteflowermke is full of anticipation: “This is gonna be awesome!” Shango replied: “You are so right! It was a hell of a lot of fun and good information. Enjoy!”

Hashing It Out

Grab a snack and binge another Shaping Fire—episode #129 is out now! In Tips for Making and Savoring Enjoyable Hash, Shango and special guest Adam Simpson explore how “enjoying hash can be a sensory delight.” Adam took first place in the Full Melt category at the Cannabis Cup Ego Clash Invitational 2022.

They discuss identifying hash plants and a number of other hash-appreciation points, including Adam’s Resin Dial invention for sampling hash flowers before running them. Visit the post for more details or just listen to the episode—it’s all good. @greenblues2021 noted: “With cookware like that, I’d love to see Baking with Adam and Shango!
